The Importance of Intimacy

Intimacy and passion are critical to the longevity of a loving relationship.  These two words are associated with the term Earth to Mars and back to Earth!  The partners are always sure they can take each other there, on their own personal love flight!  Let’s not forget about the healthy aspect of intimacy and passion.  Couples need to enjoy being together in an intimate way that may not always involve sex.  When we hear the words intimacy and passion we think of the word sex and the act.  Creating the intimacy and passion is what makes sex truly great.

With this being a now society, is the beauty of intimacy and passion a lost art?  Is it just about sex and a 5 minute thrill?  When relationships are troubled, the last thing either person wants is to be intimate and passionate with each other.  However, this is a healthy part of a relationship and is a huge part of the healing and rebuilding in troubled times.  One may find it to be awkward in the beginning, but it is crucial.  Don’t allow issues to go too far, or too long without discussing them.  The longer you continue to ignore problems the harder they become to resolve.  Many times this behavior is just the beginning of troubled times within your relationship and where you can lose intimacy.  It’s so important to stay connected, make eye contact, talk, listen, and touch often to help keep the romance alive and thriving!

One Response to “The Importance of Intimacy”

  1. HighRoadism says:

I can’t remember where I heard it said but the idea of intimacy boils down to how I want you to be In To ME (You See). Think of how you act towards your “best and most trusted friend”. That’s intimacy and nothing can come between that kind of friendship. With that kinda friendship intimacy will never die. Now Bring on the Romance! :-)
